Attendance Reporting
Report attendance using one of the methods below.
- ParentVUE
- Beginning in the 24-25 school year, parents/legal guardians can submit full-day absences using ParentVUE. Learn more about attendance reporting through ParentVUE.
- 703-503-2323
- [email protected]
When reporting a student's absence, please be specific about why your student will not attend school today.
- If reporting an ill student, include symptoms, especially if they have a fever, nausea, vomiting, sore throat, and/or cough. If your student has a diagnosis from a healthcare provider, please include that information.
Attendance Notes
Absence: If a child is not present, and the school has not received a call or email from the family reporting the absence, a “robocall” and email follow-up will be sent to confirm the absence.
Family Trips: We encourage family trips during scheduled school vacations. We discourage such trips during the school year because these extended absences interrupt sequential learning in many subject areas. Please note that we do not provide schoolwork in advance for students who will be away from school. It is critical to your child’s success that they are in school daily and on time.
Release of students during the day: Please alert your teacher and the front office if you will be picking up your child early. We will not allow a student to walk home alone during the school day, nor will we release your child to anyone not on the emergency care card without an email.
Recurring Appointments – Recurring appointments should not be scheduled during the school day as this has an impact on student learning. Additional information about attendance can be found in the Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) handbook.
Written Communication - We prefer electronic communications when possible.
