Students may either bring their own lunch to school or buy lunch to eat in the cafeteria.

How to Pay: Parents/guardians have three options to pay for school meals:
- Check: Send a check, made out to Wakefield Forest School Food Services, with your child in the morning. Be sure to include your child’s name and his or her teacher’s name in the memo portion of the check. When a lunch account has only three lunches left, the cashier will send home a notice and an automatic electronic notice will be sent.
- Cash: Cash can be deposited in a child’s account at the food service manager’s office, or students may pay cash on a daily basis.
- Online: From the cafeteria to the classroom, pay anytime, anywhere from your computer or smartphone. The service is easy to use, convenient, private and secure. There is a convenience fee per transaction. Once the account is open, parents/guardians may check the fund at any time from a computer or phone.
Free or Reduced Meals: FCPS provides free or reduced price meals to students in need of assistance to help meet their nutritional needs. Food and Nutrition Services mails application forms to every family in August. This program must be renewed each year. Translated copies are available in the office and on the FCPS website.
Join Your Child for Lunch! Parents are invited to have lunch with their students. No advance notice is needed; just check into the office and meet your child’s class in the lobby. To promote the importance of good nutrition, we ask, however, that parents do not bring lunch from local fast food chains for themselves or their child. Please do not send your children to school with soda or glass containers in their lunches.
